The Two Biggest Health Distinctions in the United States

What distinctions do you think the United States has when it comes to Health?

If you guessed best feed - under nourished and most expensive urine you would be right. The U.S. has a abundance of food, but the food lacks many nutrients. Out of the industrialized nations the U.S. ranks near the bottom for health. Is it fat foods, processed foods, chemical processing, imported goods, more people to feed, tasty additives or just a junk food tradition? Well, it's all the above and more.

We take better care of our cars than we do our body and a car we can replace, but our body is for life. I talk to young people about health and it's like talking to a tree. After a few seconds there eyes get glazed over and I know I'm finished. In this country we are seeing the effects of the years of health neglect young and old. A degenerative health trend going on for decades is now manifesting itself with numerous illnesses. The over burdened health care system is showing signs of stress cracks too.

What to do? The only thing we can do is invoke change for health sakes. The medical system has done a good job in making us dependent on them, now it's time to take our health back. It will take effort on your part and patience, but don't you think you are worth it? I allowed the doctors two years to figure out what was wrong with me and at the end the only treatment they suggested was a 12 inch needle in my throat every 6 weeks for life. The injection would be pharmaceutical grade botox for a vocal condition. I took the next 5 years to study what and how my body works and found the natural elements for self help.

You do have options, pain and pills don't have to go on forever. There are steps you must learn and understand to give your body what it needs. It will be much easier to make the changes if you understand how your body works. This will be discussed in another article.

Red Steel - Nintendo Wii - A Review

As most users of the Wii will tell you the interactive Wii remote with a nunchuck makes for a great gaming experience. Particularly if you are mimicking the slash of a sword or the swing of a bat. However the one thing that is difficult with the Wii remote is the difficultly in aiming the remote like a gun - this becomes particularly apparent in Red Steel. Holding the Wii remote in your hand in the traditional way means you hold it in an overhand grip and aim from the wrist. Not the easiest to do, especially in the game Red Steel. I haven't even finished the game because of this and a number of other fatal flaws. In particularly the graphics are very dark - maybe the game designers thought they were setting a mood, but when it becomes difficult to shoot at your enemies because you can't see them - then as a shoot them up this game fails in the most important aspect - playability. The game also gave me a head ache if I played it too long - a sure sign that the game was making too many demands on the eyes of the user.

You can over come the difficulty in aiming by buying the 'gun' setup accessory for your Wii which places your remote on the front of a "rifle" and the nunchuck on the back of the "rifle stock". I can't advise if the straight pistol accessory will work and it doesn't have this option advertised on the cover.

The story line is pretty lame and heavily Japanese influenced. You are a security guard for a Yakuza crime lord's daughter and you end up being her new boyfriend (yeh right - like I could see that really happening - rich people don't marry the help!). While going to visit her daddy all hell breaks loose and you spend the rest of the game going from one dark and graphically unappealing place to another shooting nearly everything in site - it only gets interesting when you get to saw a sword. Shoot em up's like the classic medal of honor series leave this game for dead.

My advice don't waste your money on this one - its a lemon and on special for a reason.

Why not download some classic Nintendo games instead, visit http://nintendo-wii-fanatic.blogspot.com for great links to download sites.

Using Blog Contests and Challenges to Drive Customers

Great strides in innovation have been made through competition, contests and challenges. Not long ago DARPA challenges the intellectual elite to develop a self-driving autonomous car, 3-years later they now exist. A million dollars awarded to the winner and it was done. Private Space flight also occurred thanks to the X-Prize, and sure enough some billionaires got together with the top folks in the field and made it happen. I was there that day to witness history in the making - quite impressive indeed.

So, with all this historical background, suffice it to say that contests and challenges work, humans are attracted to competition, I know I am. In my quest to be the best in my various endeavors, competition spurs me on to create more and faster than ever before. Luckily, for you I am hardly alone in such a mindset.

If you own a blog and have a substantial readership and subscriber base you may consider having a blogging challenge and announcing the results on your blog. Contests create interest and competition is fun to watch and participate in. One typical contest is to challenge other bloggers to post their very best posts and then send traffic to them to read them and come back to your blog to vote.

The blogging contest could involve 100 or more bloggers, with the top ten moving to the championship round. The top ten could be judged on style, quality, originality or just about anything you decide. This makes your blog the place to go to review other blogs, like a blog portal or blog directory. Additionally, all those who participate in the contest will sign up as friends and refer your blog as one of the best. Think on this, it works.
